Masters in the art of connection, Lindsay Martin (AU) and Victoria Vigenser (NZ) interweave effortless strings, soulful vocals and driving rhythms to form a singular, intense musical voice. The couple have been called contemporary folk, alt-country and acoustic pop, but words don’t capture their unbelievable musical kinship, or the deeply heartfelt way they relate to their audiences. Nominated Best Folk Artist in both AU and NZ, this troubadour duo have an inexplicable appeal that has seen them on a steep and fast rise to countless festival billings throughout 2022/23, with NZ, AU, UK and EU tours to accompany their highly anticipated sophomore release in 2024.

Über We Mavericks:

We Mavericks sind Victoria Vigenser (NZ) - Gitarre / Gesang und Lindsay Martin (AUS) - Fiddle / Mandoline / Gesang.

Seit 2019 tourt das Paar durch ganz Australien und Neuseeland. Kaum ein Folk-Festival will die Chance verpassen diese super sympathischen und extrem talentierten Newcomer zu präsentieren, denn wer sie einmal gesehen hat will mehr! Das Geheimnis? Das ist es ja gerade, es gibt keins; Offen, begeistert und köstlich amüsant erzählt das Duodie Geschichten wie ihre Songs entstanden sind. Ihr vernetzer Umgang miteinander und ihre Selbstironie beziehen die Zuschauer sofort ins Geschehen mit ein; dann spielt die Musik und keine Frage bleibt mehr offen.

Kraftvoller Gesang gespickt mit himmlischen Harmonien, treibende Rhythmen, vollendete Solos und natürlich die eigenen Kompositionen samt Text schaffen ultimative musikalische Glücksgefühle. We Mavericks wurden schon als “contemporary folk”, “alt-country” oder “acoustic pop” beschrieben aber eigentlich passen sie in keine Sparte denn dazu sind sie zu einzigartig.

2024 kommen sie zum ersten mal in deutschsprachigen Raum.

Nominiert als Bester Volkskünstler bei den NZ Music Awards und als Beste Duo/Gruppe/Ensemble bei den Australian Folk Music Awards
