Short bio:

Masters in the art of connection, this troubadour duo interweave effortless strings, soulful vocals and driving rhythms to form a singular, intense musical voice. The couple have been called contemporary folk, alt-country and acoustic pop, but words don’t capture their unbelievable musical kinship, or the deeply heartfelt way they relate to their audiences.

Long bio:

Masters in the art of connection, Lindsay Martin (AU) and Victoria Vigenser (NZ) interweave effortless strings, soulful vocals and driving rhythms to form a singular, intense musical voice. The couple have been called contemporary folk, alt-country and acoustic pop, but words don’t capture their unbelievable musical kinship, or the deeply heartfelt way they relate to their audiences. Nominated Best Folk Artist in both AU and NZ, this troubadour duo have an inexplicable appeal that has seen them on a steep and fast rise to countless festival billings throughout 2022/23, with NZ, AU, UK and EU tours to accompany their highly anticipated sophomore release in 2024.

Heart of Silver:

A smooth-sounding journey across rough emotional ground, it explores how a heart might become a beautiful thing even if it has been “tarnished by time”. Every song is both easy-listening and thought-provoking. Only their second album, it proves their rare ability to write songs from the heart with hooks you will whistle as you let your mind wander; The whole album is a journey from vulnerable lyrics & strong harmonies right through to driving mandolin & fiddle leading the band.

The title track sings “it’s a good-luck, cold, hard, precious thing” - Victoria Vigenser’s penchant for turning cliches into meaningful metaphors combines beautifully with Lindsay Martin’s extraordinary ability to pull a swathe of emotions out of one set of strings. Add the rhythm powerhouse that is Julia Day on drums and bass, plus beautiful string sections comprising cellists Rachel Johnston and Trent Arkleysmith and this album is certain to please ears across the genres.

Initially described as a “folk” act, their first single "All This Noise" featured on Country Music TV while "Hold Me" has just featured on ABC's GRASSROOTS Country Radio. With most recent singles "Carefree" and title track "Heart of Silver", they're leaning even further into their Americana/country sounds- The only catch is, their songs have a depth of feeling usually reserved for travelling troubadours and folksingers.

Über We Mavericks:
